Anna Dickson
My background is in teaching and speech and language therapy. I have worked in mainstream and specialist schools as well as in the community over the last 20 years supporting adults and children with additional needs. This has laid the foundation for my desire to build trusting relationships, my passion for respecting each client’s individual journey and my genuine care for those I work with.
I sought help from a counsellor at a time when I was struggling to come to terms with deeply upsetting events that had happened in my life. I found that having a regular outlet where I felt I could express how I was truly feeling without the fear of upsetting someone else gave me the chance to start to heal in my own way. I hope that I can offer that time to others now.
I trained for three years to obtain a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Therapy. This led me to specialise in working with adults presenting with a wide range of issues.
